Fall 2020 Creative Community Meetups
We’re continuing our spring/summer online meetup series but with some format updates for fall. Each month, join us for an hour of honest conversation, creative camaraderie, and almost certainly a few belly laughs. Each session will include three sections that are all optional. Show up to share, listen, or be heard.
- Airing of the grievances: group sharing based on a monthly topic we provide
- Group discussion or activity led by Oldspeake
- Open air time: an opportunity to share project work you’d like feedback on or a finished project that you’re proud of — doesn’t need to be work-related, passion projects are welcome, too!
So, save the date! It’s the last Wednesday of every month. (Except November — it’s the 3rd Thursday because of Thanksgiving.) Here’s what’s coming up:
Motivation Killers: Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 4 PM ET
Share the most gnarly motivation killers you’ve experienced and the group will discuss the ways we all manage our time and energy to get the most out of our efforts.
Evaluating Design: Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 4 PM ET
Let’s see who can win bragging rights for the worst design feedback ever received. Then, we’ll test our collective design chops with the Can’t Unsee quiz.
(Spoiler alert — we disagree with some of their answers.)
Criticism: Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 4 PM ET
This is your chance to anonymously share a criticism to get it off your chest. The group discussion will center around the good and bad criticisms we’ve all heard, how to take it well, and the best advice when you have to be the person to deliver it.
